My childhood games

Suddenly I feel like blogging about my childhood life. I would say my childhood life is wonderful compare to the new generation of children living in Melawati now. Firstly, there are not many children in the neighbourhood. Secondly, there are too many bad guys out there. These children only play with their siblings, talking to the uncles and aunties (so mature right?) and stir up the dogs. They always make my dog goes crazy in the evening. He barks they scream, grrrr… =.=

We had all kinds of games 10 years ago. Our favourite sport was BADMINTON! Whenever there is Thomas Cup or any major badminton tournament on that month, the young and the old will grab their racquets and play outdoor badminton. I was a famous badminton player in the neighbourhood, HA =D! I am good at playing outdoor badminton, it is more challenging you know! Because I was too good, I was always scolded and teased by my opponent - my elder brother. Whenever he can’t hit a shot, he will scold me in foul language and curse NOT HIMSELF but on me! Damn him! hahaha. Every evening, one aunty will bring her son, my big bro and I to the nearby club. We played 3 hours non stop! Well, that was because we were still young, I don’t think I can right now, my body and racquet are rusty, lol.

Every time, I will partner my brother and again I will always get scolded. Sometimes our racquets clashed, sometimes we fight for the shuttlecock, sometimes we hit each other. Until one day, I could not withstand his attitude, I ran out of court and cry! The aunty then advised my brother to control his temper but I refused to team up with him. So, the next time we played, I team up with the aunty, so its girl/lady vs the boys. The aunty told my mum that I had potential if they send me to a badminton academy but my parents think it is useless, it is better to concentrate in my studies. Boohooo, I still love this sport although I didn’t play for 4 years that’s because my badminton mates all hilang, faint…

As a child, I am a cry baby, small little thing I can cry from morning till evening and I am very small minded too! I like to purse my lips when I don’t get the things I want. (Now, purse lips is sexy! =P) Let me tell you my cry baby situations, when I think back, I feel sooooo annoyed at myself…. I hate myself, hahaha!

I was playing outdoor badminton and I team up with the only girl in the neighbourhood, June. She is very adventurous and tomboy. (Very LADY now!) I was going after the shuttlecock, I didn’t know she was going after it too, so she hit me on the head as if my head is the shuttlecock. (Wondering do I have white hair that time? lol) I straight away ran home and cry, complaining of headache. She kept apologizing to me but I ignored her, I just want to cry…

The next situation, we were playing ‘Murderer and Civilians”. When the murderer caught you, you are dead. We had rules for this game which was we can’t run out from the neighbourhood. So I ran to a dead end and when the “murderer” caught me, I still insist to run. As a consequence, I accidentally scratch my hand and body on the wire grill. Ran home and cry again… but before that, I shouted “I DON’T WANT TO PLAY!” *purse lips*

As we grew bigger, we can ride bicycle! Each of us forced our parents to buy us a mountain bike. I am a slow learner, I know how to cycle but I don’t know how to use the brakes. Therefore, my slippers always worn off and I don’t know how many times I fell down from the bike. There was once, I was eating bubble gum while cycling, as I cycled in a circle suddenly I felt dizzy and fell,. Thank god I didn’t swallow my bubble gum instead, it flew out from my mouth, hahaha! I am not a cry baby anymore, so yeah… I picked up the bicycle and cycled again… with the slippers as my brake. -.-

Since all of us had a bike, we went for a bike adventure around Melawati without our parents’ knowledge. My lil brother is very pitiful, he wanted to follow but we never want him to join us because he is slow as he is a fat boy that time. Most of the time, I didn’t join their adventure, coz I am ‘chicken’. Besides that, we also play ‘Traffic Light’ where one of us had to be a traffic police. If we didn’t follow the traffic lights or rules, the traffic police will get on his bike and chase after us and we had to pay saman. We plucked leaves as money and the police station is my house. We also had bike competition. First is the 100m bike race and another one is cycled around Taman A and see who reached my house first. Usually my elder brother is the winner, he has strong legs, haha.

After that, we had a bike and sprinter competition. I was a sprinter in school, so I had to run bare footed and challenge a biker who is a fat boy – Watermelon. Actually, we were teasing Watermelon because he is so round. Logically, a bicycle is faster than feet but, oh my gawd, Watermelon lost, the guys laughed at him even louder. But Watermelon doesn’t mind, he challenged me again and yet, he lost again… faint.

After my elder brother’s bicycle was stolen, we seldom ride bicycle. We changed to play ‘Worms’ and ‘Power Rangers’. I remember I was the Pink Ranger, June was Yellow Ranger, my big bro was White Ranger and my lil bro was the Monster, hahaha! So kesian behh, always the ugly and odd one. I also played Tamiya when I was a child. My motor car was Dancing Doll. Again, that aunty will bring her son, my big bro and I to Giant and test our car on the track. I am the only girl there… I remember there was one uncle and auntie shook their head and whispering to each other when they saw a girl was also a Tamiya fanatic. Mannnn… what is the big deal? =D

June’s bro then suggested a new game called “Bola Chop”. It was a very hot game in the neighbourhood. Many children from other neighbourhood came and joined us even the adults! We also love Mooncake festival because we got to play FIRE! Some of us will burn our paper lanterns and we went round the fire acting like Red Indians. It wasn’t fun for me coz the ashes and smoke went into my eyes and I had teary eyes. Got scolded when I went home… boo!

At 13 -14 years old, we played serious game, which was basketball. We were always the one to book the court coz basketball is not a famous sport in that club. June and I were the only girls there but we played like the guys, knocking, grabbing, stealing here and there. I got scolded by my big bro again. This time is because of my finger nails, lol. In this sport, he respects me a lot because my shooting is more accurate than him, HA! Three pointer is like a piece of cake for me! That was 6 years ago lahhh, hahahaha! Now… haihhh, speechless. =[

When I was in form 4, we didn’t play and meet anymore as most of the big brothers were sitting for SPM and some preparing for college life or working. Since then, the neighbourhood is very dead. At 530pm, it is silence outside, only dogs barking. Since then, I am getting fatter and fatter too, no exercise at all. How I wish I can go back to my flamingo body, LOL! Need to find a fat biker…

Class Party – September 1, 2009

We had our class party at Tony’s house in Klang on Tuesday. It was a potluck party so I book fried rice. The organizer reminded me twice not to make too much as there were fried mee, curry chicken, pizza, pasta, drummets… etc. So I told my mum about it. At first, my mum wanted to change her dish to jelly or pudding as she said nobody will eat fried rice. I asked, “Why?”(Usually people prefer desserts on party.) “Oh okay. Up to you lah. But most of my friends are “fan tong”, they like to eat rice.”Mum thinking deeply. “Oklah oklah, rice rice lah. Cannot finish then you eat lah, ok?,” she said. Luckily my prediction was right, my friends were all rice lovers. It was nearly finish before an hour! Phewww, I don’t need to eat the fried rice myself, hahaha!

I wanted to text my mum at 7pm that her fried rice is almost finished and my friends were praising her. But… busy eating and taking photos, haha. She was actually worrying at home and wanted to call me, so afraid that nobody will eat her dish, *faint…*

When I reached home at 1230am, my dad was still watching television. He passed a message to me “Your mum left a space in the fridge to store the leftover fried rice.”I told him, “oh, don’t need lah. Already finish. You want tiramitsu? My friend bakes it.”Dad: “What, what su ah?” “It is a cake called tiramitsu, got cheese one,” I explained to him. Well, actually that piece of tiramitsu was for my mum but I can’t be so bias, I thought my dad doesn’t like cheese, mana tahu he said, “okay.” =.=lll My dad’s appetite is unpredictable. My mum then heard noise downstairs and she came out from the room. The first thing she asked me was, “How’s my fried rice? Finished or not? I kept a space in the fridge.” (Habis lah in less than an hour…) Wow, she was so happy and shouted, “WAHH! HAHAHAHA.”Second sentence, “Got Su Teng’s tiramitsu ah?”(Got, but only one piece and dad’s eating now.) Mum came rushing down, “See see seeee…”She didn’t eat because she doesn’t want to brush her teeth again, lol.

After that day, I told my mum, See, your cooking is good, especially your fried rice and bihun.”We told her many, many times but she doesn’t believe us. Instead we got scolded, “of course you all said that, so you don’t need to cook!” Can’t blame her, mama’s frust for cooking so many years.

Back to the party, besides just class party, we also celebrated Michelle’s 23rd birthday. You can watch the video on my facebook. Damn hilarious speech from Michelle! She said “Thank you Irene for reminding me that I am 23… tomorrow.”Sharz then shouted “Oh my god, you are so old.”Mich then teased his buddy, “Unlike certain people who is one year older than me (pointing at Ian).”

After that, we had games. The game master was Ongong. The first game didn’t happen, something like we have to search for the items base on the instruction given by Ongong. The second game was funny where Shan, Jul, Sharz and Mich acted as our lecturers and we had to guess. The video is also uploaded on my facebook. You can’t really hear voices, only screams and laughter.

We were split into 2 groups for the third game and each group had to send one representative. Then, the person had to pick a word from the paper box and can only give 2 clues to her/is group members. If his/er group members fail to guess the correct word written on the paper, the next group will guess and grab their lollipop/ Hersheys. In the end, my group lost to them on one Hershey chocolate. We had 10 lollipops and 2 Hersheys while they had 10 lollipops and 3 Hersheys! (Our members’ energy ran dry till the end of the game bahh.)

One funny moment during the game was KJ. I was in a group with him and the first clue he gave us was “HOT”. Ian straight away whispered to us, “Oh, must be a hot girl, Megan Fox!”We all believed him, “okok, let’s wait for the second word.”Second clue, “GASEOUS”.Whole group members, “HAR??!!!!?!! Gaseous? What is gaseous?”We broke the word, “okay, maybe Gaseous means Gas, Hot and Gas… hmmmm…”So I asked “Hot air balloon?”Tony then said, “Let’s try that one first, we still have another chance if it’s wrong. HOT AIR BALLOON.”Shan: “Wrong. You will hit him when you know the answer.”KJ then said, “Close! Close!”It made us so excited, CLOSE! But what is that that is HOT and GAS?! In the end, we tembak our second answer, “rocket and missle…”(WRONG.)

Now, group A had a chance to grab our lollipop, Jul said, “Kentut! (fart.)”LOL! I can’t remember their second answer but nobody got it correct. So, the game master told us, “Sun.” All of us nearly fall on the ground. HOT + GASEOUS = SUN, wowww… KJ was jokingly scolded by Ian, “You should said FIREBALL, YELLOW, ORANGE! What gaseous?! You see, we lost our lollipop!” KJ defended himself that sun contains gas something scientific coming out from there which I am not interested, lol. Then, somebody teased him again, “Hot air balloon, close ~ ~.”KJ, “Close lah, sky mahh…”Damn pening and funny. KJ also scolded his group members saying, “You all ah, when I said Hot you all go think of hot girls, megan fox…”LOL! LMAO!

Before 10pm, Shan, Amy, Sarah, Jeannie, Annee, Meg and Jul left, followed by Biru, Szesze and Ojiisan. Before they left, Tony brought out transparent plastic bags for us to da pao some leftover food home. I da pao ChinHoon/ Kailin/ Neeta and Ah Chee’s fruit salad, so appertising mannnn!

We left Tony’s place at around 11pm. Susu and Teng were following Sharz and suddenly, Sharz made a U turn, we followed. Guess what? Sharz left Ian at Tony’s place! HAHAHA. We were very blur in the car, Teng was asking, “Why U turn?”Then Giant called DB, “Sharwin is turning back to pick Ian, Ian is still at Tony’s house.”DB passed the message to us, “Irene said Sharwin turn back and pick Ian.”(Har? How come? Ian is in the car already watt…) “Don’t know lah, maybe I heard wrongly, coz I don’t really understand.”(Maybe he left something in Tony’s house?) The next day in Uni, we asked WHY, WHY, WHY again, then somebody explained and we laugh our ass off!

We were stuck at Tony’s area for some time as KJ (the leader) lost his way, so the blind leads the blind. At one point, he turned into a dead end and Carmen, Susu, Sharz and Teng followed. After that, we were at the traffic light, KJ suddenly thought of not going straight but turned left, so all of us at the back senget to one side. The cars behind of us might thought the first car broke down, lol.

I went to bed at 2am but couldn’t close my eyes because my stomach is still filled with tiramitsu, brownies, fried rice, fried mee, jelly, pasta, sandwich, coke, sausage and salad. (My digestive system got problem kut?) So I got up at 3am and online for an hour to make myself sleepy. When I can finally sleep, my alarm rings… “shytt… 7am already…”Gotta go for Paul’s class… I dragged myself out of bed and…before going into the bathroom, i hug the pillar and slept for a minute, so sleeeeeeppyyy mannnn… My head was fishing in the train too and almost missed my station. Coz when I woke up, the train is on its way to Asiajaya. Thank you Paul for letting us leave early, he still has a little bit of kasih sayang, haha.

Food of the day – Fried Rice and Tiramitsu.

Word of the day – Gaseous.
